In the course of the initial tests during the transmission of data between the new Module “Science” and the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS), failures were identified, Interfax reports, referring to the European Space Agency (ESA).
“Studies of communication flows in the Russian segment of the ISS continue,” – notes Eka.
Agency adds that the Russian computer and the external control panel work normally. “The ESA team is confident that there is enough time to eliminate problems and testing [European Robot-Manipulator] ERA before installing and testing, scheduled for January,” reports.
In August, NASA confirmed that the unplanned inclusion of the engines of the multifunctional laboratory module (MLM) “Science” after its connection to the Russian segment of the ISS led to a change in the overall orientation in the latter space by 540 degrees (full turnover).
In the same month, the head of the American Space Agency Bill Nelson said that the Russian MLM and the European Robot Manipulator EUROPEAN Robotic ARM (ERA) will help to make even more discoveries, valuable for both living on earth and taking into account our promotion in Cosmos and on Mars. “
In July, RIA Novosti, referring to the negotiations of astronauts with the center of flight management (PC), reported that the engines of “science” docked to the ISS were unplanned earned. The reason for this in “Roskosmos” was called a short-term software failure.
MLM docked to the ISS on July 29. On it, “Science” took the place of the Pierce module, which, with the help of the “Progress MS-16” cargo ship, was reflected from the Russian station segment.
“Science”, in particular, received a remote controlled Robot-manipulator ERA, created by the European Space Agency (ESA).
