Roskosmos allocated money to replace ISS

Roscosmos allocated money to the draft Russian orbital service station (ROSS), which should be a replacement for the International Space Station (ISS), RIA Novyi reports, referring to the materials of the state procurement site.

From the documents it follows that Ross will include seven modules: the base unit (started by a promising “Soyuz-5” rocket), free-precision, gateway and transformable modules (output by the “Soyuz-2” carriers), laboratory and universal node modules and module -stapel (launched by heavy missiles “Angara-A5”).

On the appropriate work, together with the project of the piloted flight to the moon, it is planned to spend more than 1.7 billion rubles.

Also within the framework of this tender, Roscosmos announced a competition for work on the topics of manned flights to the moon. To send a person to the moon, it is planned to use the Angara missile and a small transport ship (MTC).

In April, Vice Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that Russia could leave the project of the International Space Station (ISS) by 2025, and will begin work on the Russian orbital service station (Ross). According to Rogozin, the creation of Ross will require the same costs as the maintenance of the Russian segment of the ISS after 2025.
