Employees of the Special Forces of the Kosovo police beat three citizens of Serbia at the checkpoint (PPC) “Brunik” (the municipality of the Zubin-flow), the victims delivered to the hospital. It is reported by Kosovo Online.
According to the publication, the Serbs drove to chop firewood, but at some point the police car broke out the road. The security forces brought them out of the car and began to beat.
One of the beaten, Dragisha Vaskovich, said that he and other victims were not related to protests that began in Kosovo a few days ago. “They shouted something in Albanian, I did not understand, they threw me on the asphalt, hit the back, on the mouth, they broke my tooth there was blood, I asked water, but no one wanted to give it to me,” added he.
The main negotiator Belgrade and the Director of the Office for the Affairs of Kosovo and Metokhiy Petr Petkovich called the happening of the cruel and terrible incident. In his opinion, Serbs were beaten exclusively because of their nationality. “Albin Kurti (Kosovo Prime Minister – approx. Lenta.ru) is directly responsible for today’s terrible incident, the only purpose of which from the beginning of the crisis is the violence of unarmed people in the north of the provinces, which only protect their right to life,” – Added an official.
Earlier in September, Serbs, living in the North Kosovo, conducted a peaceful protest action at one of the checkpoint located on the administrative border between Central Serbia and autonomy. The reason for the rally was a ban on entry into Kosovo Transport with Serbian Registration Signs.
The Republic of Kosovo is a partially recognized state in the Balkan Peninsula. It is mostly inhabited by ethnic Albanians, but the Serbian population is also present. Serbia considers the autonomous region of Kosovo and Metokhia – the so-called region in the Serbian constitution – part of its territory, local authorities announced independence in 2008.
