The Russian government issued a negative conclusion to the draft law on the indexation of pensions to working retirees, transfers Interfax with reference to the document, which is dated September 22.
The authorities noted that indexation will require additional costs, but in the financial and economic justification, it is not indicated in what sources and in what order they will be provided. Prior to this, the government has already issued negative conclusions for such bills – in 2017, 2019 and in 2020.
In July, a group of deputies and Senator Sergey Leonov made a bill to the State Duma on the return of indexation of insurance pensions to working retirees. One of the authors of the initiative, the head of the Committee of the Lower Chamber for Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, Yaroslav Nilov noted that the lack of indexation of insurance pensions is unfair.
“Given the low sizes of insurance pensions, many pensioners to maintain an acceptable standard of living are forced to work. The level of their wages is usually low. The lack of indexing insurance pensions negatively affects their financial position,” said policies.
