The ban on the hiring of Russians to the US Embassy led to the degradation of the relations between Moscow and Washington in a number of directions. This was stated by the American ambassador John Sullivan, reports TASS.
Diplomat noted that diplomsses need a sufficient number of people for timely issuance of visas. “Taking into account the restrictions that were imposed on our work on the part of the Government of the Russian Federation in this spring to attract local citizens from other states, we simply have no employees who could provide services not only to the Americans,” he concluded.
Sullivan noted that the American embassy faces an acute lack of personnel. According to him, the current ban led to the deterioration of bilateral relations between Russia and the United States and in other areas of diplomatic interaction.
In May, Russia included the United States to the list of unfriendly countries. As a result of this decision disappeared the opportunity to work in the American Embassy of Russian citizens and third countries. Then Sullivan stated that this step would have a strong impact on the work of the diplomission. “We are practically unable to handle any applications for the issuance of visas,” he emphasized.
