A high level of milk food consumption prevents cardiovascular diseases. At the same time, the increased consumption of dairy fats is not associated with an increased risk of death. This was revealed by scientists of the George Global Health Institute, Hopkins Public Health Schools and University of Uppsa. Article researchers Published in PLOS Medicine magazine.
Researchers rated the consumption of dairy fats among the 4150 Swedes aged 60, measuring the level of certain fatty acid in the blood of patients. The subjects were observed for 16 years to determine the frequency of heart attacks, strokes and other serious circulatory disorders. After statistical correction of factors such as age, income, lifestyle, food habits and other diseases, it turned out that a high level of dairy products was associated with a low risk of cardiovascular diseases.
The results obtained contradict the dietary guidelines, according to which it is better to choose skimmed dairy products. 17 other studies involving almost 43 thousand people from the United States, Denmark and Great Britain confirmed data on the benefits and safety of dairy fats for the heart.
