Czech Republic will require major changes in the plan of the European Union (EU) to save the planet. According to Bloomberg, the Prime Minister of the Republic, Andrei Babish, followed measures to reduce emissions, as they, in his opinion, will seriously damage the country’s automotive industry.
Babish believes, the proposed ban on internal combustion engines by 2035 is “nonsense”. “I am convinced that the plan needs to be significantly changed,” the European Country Prime Minister spoke. – “He is ruined by car manufacturers, and we are against this sentence. The next government will have to deal with it, because we cannot dictate to people, what cars they should be bought.”
Banning of automobiles with internal combustion engines by 2035 is part of the EU ambitious climate plan for the transformation of the economy. Now 27 countries block will have to negotiate on ecology. One of the stumbling blocks was the struggle for electric vehicles. For the Czech Republic, the bill is a problem, since the production of cars is more than a quarter industry industry and almost 700 thousand people are employed in it.
This is not the first time Babish expresses concern about the EU environmental goals. He argued that Green Initiatives will jeopardize the competitiveness of the economy of the Czech Republic, which consumes a lot of coal. The Prime Minister also promised to put the topic of the automotive industry in priority, when the EU president will come to the position of EU Chairman in the second half of 2022.
The ecological goals of the European Union have already entered into a contradiction with the state needs of another member country – Poland. The EU court sentenced Warsaw to a daily fine of 500 thousand euros for coal mining at the “Torov” mine. Punishment will cancel as soon as the field development will be stopped. However, Poland does not intend to fulfill the judgment of the trial, since the stability of the country’s power system depends on the work of the mine.
