Moldova President Maya Sanda said that the republic will continue to demand the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the unrecognized Transnistria. This is reported by TASS.
“I would also like to repeat that our position on the complete and unconditional conclusion of the military remains unchanged,” Sanda emphasized, speaking at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly. She explained that this implies the export or destruction of ammunition in warehouses in the village of Savrasna, which is the threat of ecology and safety of the region as a whole.
The President of the country stressed that Chisinau is very concerned about the deterioration in the security situation in the Black Sea region. “We are determined to find peaceful political solutions for the conflict in the Transnistrian region of our country in compliance with the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity,” concluded Sanda.
In August, Moldova wanted to ask Russia to help her get rid of ammunition from Transnistria. Maya Sanda stated that Chisinau and Moscow “agreed on interaction.” At the same time, it is not yet disclosed for the start of mutual assistance.
