The Chairman of the Central Bank (Central Bank) of Russia Elvira Nabiullina considers the write-off of loans to debtors unfair in relation to honest borrowers. She stated this in the Federation Council, responding to the question of Senator Evgeny Savchenko, RIA Novosti reports.
Savchenko reminded the proposal of the Council to reduce the debt burden on young families by rewarding loan contracts for three percent maximum. According to senators, the program financing must provide the Central Bank. Nabiullina recognized the fact of highly slaughtered Russians, but rejected Savchenko’s idea. “You see if we need to know the loans to those who did not pay, those who served these loans and paid these interest rates, they will be in an unfair situation, it seems to me,” the head of the Central Bank explained.
During the Nabiullin meeting, also proposed to limit the amount of loan overpayment. She reproached banks in the fact that those learned to bypass the restrictions of the Central Bank at the full cost of the loan (PSK) and continue to issue loans to citizens with debts.
For a month, the volume of overdue loans of individuals grew by 10 billion rubles (plus one percent), and from the beginning of the year – by 73 billion (plus 7.9 percent). In mid-September, the Central Bank announced plans to ban some types of loans.
