Cosmonauts complained about smell in Russian MCS module

Russian astronauts on board the ISS reported on the smell in the “Star” module, which appeared in the area of ​​the operating air conditioning system (SLE). It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Responding to a question of a specialist near Moscow flight management center about what the smell is currently, the cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky said he became less.

In the Flight Management Center noted that both SCM systems are now disabled, and asked to wipe the area of ​​the possible place of smelling with a napkin for analyzing on Earth. Also, cosmonauts advised, if necessary, include the air purification system.

Earlier, Oleg Novitsky reported to the PC on the signaling in the “Star” module. After that, the crew felt the smell of Gary and saw smoke. Cosmonauts commissioned “as soon as possible” to inspect the instruments of the power supply system and find the source of the smell.
