Currently, five strategic minority bombers of the B-21 Raider are built at the Northrop Grumman plant in Palmdale, the American edition of The Drive reports, referring to the Statement of the Minister of Air Force (Air Force) Frank Kendalla.
The publication assumes that the first such aircraft will rise to the air at the end of spring or the beginning of the summer of next year. The first B-21 Raider, which are considered the “killers” of Russian S-500 Systems “Prometheus”, should receive in the middle of the decade, the Ellsworth base in South Dakota, then – Whiteman’s bases (Missouri) and Dys (Texas). According to The Drive, new bombers are “senior priority for the Ministry of Defense and Air Force.”
In July, US Air Force showed a new image of a promising strategic stealth bomber B-21 Raider, in January called Popular Mechanics magazine “the coolest” aircraft in the world.
In June, The National Interest magazine wrote that the B-21 Raider would be invulnerable to promising Russian anti-aircraft missile systems C-500 “Prometheus”.
In May, the DRIVE edition reported that Frank Kendall supported the acquisition of the Pentagon 145 units of B-21 Raider.
According to Popular Mechanics, this strategic bomber will be able to transfer ordinary and nuclear weapons, for example, adjustable ammunitions Joint Directed Attack MUNITION (JDAM) and AGM-158 Joint Air to Surface Standoff Missile (Jassm), as well as B83 and B61 nuclear bombs -12.
