Russia promised to write off duty of Sudan

Russia went to meet Sudan on debt write-off: Probably it is a promise to write off the country’s economic debt. This is indicated by the deputy headlamp of the Sudanese Foreign Ministry of Mohammad Sharif, it quotes RIA Novosti.

Diplomat thanked the Russian authorities for going to meet Khartoum in the question of writing off the debt. The country expects to sign a memorandum on debt write-off with Moscow.

“[The problem of Sudanese debts], of course, makes our movement on the path of economic transformations. We hope that it will achieve an agreement on the write-off part of the Sudanese debt. This problem continues to stand, we have debts to other countries,” added Sharif.

In July, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) stated that Sudan has the right to receive assistance under the program for poor countries with large debt. RIA Novosti reported this.

The economic situation in the country has worsened after a military coup in April 2019 there was a military coup. Ruled 30 years President Omar Al-Bashir was removed from power. The protracted period of political instability led to the deterioration of the economic situation in the country.
