In Russia, there are many enterprises poorly affecting the environment, while investors and creditors are increasingly paying attention to the level of the company’s environmental friendliness. Against this, the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina saw for the country the risks of “shift to the periphery of the world economy”, RIA Novosti reports.
According to her, climatic risks are increasingly influenced by the Russian economy. If you do not do this issue on time, you can ride on the backyards of the global economy. The Central Bank plans to issue recommendations on accounting for climate risks in Finnganizations in 2022.
“The nature of our economy is associated with a large number of so-called brown enterprises. It is important not to fall behind here, because in the world where the level of environmental friendliness of enterprises will soon be one of the main factors when making investors’ decisions, we will simply lose competitive advantages,” – emphasized Nabiullina. She noted that the power switch for the country would not be easy.
The rapid energy transfer rates can cause a decrease in the volume of Russian reserves below the critical mark in the early 2030s, declared earlier Deputy Minister Vladimir Kolychev.
Chairman of the Accounts Chamber Alexey Kudrin noted in September that the trends in the transition to the green economy will create risks for the income base of the Russian budget system already in the next ten years.
