The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the main topics for the meeting were the inclusion of the new Afghan government, respect for human rights and ensuring the territorial integrity of the republic. During the negotiations, the issue of the development of economic and humanitarian contacts of Afghanistan with the international community would also be affected. Moscow called the past dialogue constructive.
According to the Office, the Militants of the Radical Movement “Taliban” (a terrorist organization forbidden in Russia), who seized power in the Afghan territory, hoped to further strengthen cooperation with Russia, China and Pakistan. Taliban pointed out the important role of three states in ensuring peace and security in the republic. The parties agreed to maintain communication in the interests of the future prosperity of Afghanistan.
Earlier it was reported that the former President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai and the head of the Supreme Council on National Reconciliation Abdulla Abdullah also met with negotiators from Russia, China and Pakistan to discuss the situation in Afghanistan, the future of the country and interaction between states.
