The last time the record of the exchange value of this variety of gas was delivered on July 22. Then the price rose to 60.03 thousand rubles per ton. Prices for gasoline began to grow on September 15. For the week AI-95 rose by 3.2 percent.
Two weeks ago, the top manager of the Shell retail chain in Russia Vitaly Maslov predicted that in the near future an independent gas station, occupying 60 percent of the country’s market, threaten mass bankruptcy. He indicated that with such a stock price, they have to trade fuel at a loss.
At the same time, analysts expected that the cost of gasoline will go down in September, as people return to work, and the seasonal factor comes down.
Also in early September, Energy Deputy Minister Pavel Sorokin called the introduction of a ban on gasoline exports. According to him, the department would like to minimally interfere in the market, so that the sharp measure will be used only as a last resort, if other ways to stop prices will not be.
