Serbia requires that the Kosovo police detachments immediately move away from the administrative line between the Kosovo region and the Metokhia and the Central Serbia, where the peaceful protests of Serbs were held. The President of Serbia Alexander Vucich was made with such a statement, his TASS quotes it.
According to politics, the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo does not fulfill the conditions of a peace agreement. In this regard, he demanded that Brussels affect Kosovarov.
Squads of the Kosovo police, as well as snipers, took the transitions Yarin and Brunik on the administrative line between the North Kosovo and Central Serbia in the morning of September 20. Representatives of law enforcement agencies argue that the purpose of the transmission of special forces is “the modernization of infrastructure and the improvement of the working conditions of the police.” On the same day, the perturbed Serbs moved to the transitions and began a peaceful protest, as a result, it was dispersed with a tear gas. Protests continue.
Brussels and Washington called on the part to immediately terminate the escalation of the conflict and refrain from further one-sided steps.
The Republic of Kosovo is a partially recognized state in the Balkan Peninsula. It is mostly inhabited by ethnic Albanians, but the Serbian population is also present. Serbia considers the autonomous region of Kosovo and Metokhia – the so-called region in the Serbian constitution – part of its territory, local authorities announced independence in 2008.
