British military official accidentally revealed personal data of all Afghan translators who worked for the United Kingdom and forced to hide from the Taliban (a terrorist organization prohibited in Russia). It is reported by Daily Mail.
Employee of the Ministry of Defense Error did not use the “Hidden Copy” function, allowing to hide email addresses to which letters were sent. He sent a letter to the 250 translators hiding in Afghanistan who did not have time to evacuate from Kabul and remained in the country.
According to the newspaper, most addresses are the names of people, and some are still attached photos. Now everyone, who received a message from the Afghan Group on Resettlement and Assistance (ARAP), can see the information and other hiding.
The lack of the British Ministry of Defense can become a death sentence for everyone who did not have time to escape from the country if the Taliban caught at least one person out of 250 addresses. Ben Wallace Defense Minister demanded a urgent investigation of data leakage.
On September 1, the United Kingdom Embassy in Afghanistan in writing recommended people to come to the gate of abbey not far from the Baron Hotel, despite the fact that security services warned about the inevitability of the attack on Kabul Airport. The Afghan translator who received a letter tells that he decided not to go to the point of evacuation, since he heard about an imminent terrorist attack.
