Belarus needs to increase the fertility for the accelerated development of the country and the nation, so in each family there must be at least three children. Such a number as a demographic reference named the President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting of the Council of Ministers on Social Policy, BelTA reports.
According to him, largestness should be the norm for the Belarusian society. “My principal position you know – the country and the nation develop when at least three children are brought up in families,” said Lukashenko.
The Belarusian leader stated that the state takes all possible measures to improve the quality of life of families with children. In particular, since 2015, the country has a “powerful” family capital program, various benefits and benefits were introduced.
“We can respond to say that the support of large families is a social brand of our state, his business card,” the president noted. He also stressed that economic factors should not become an obstacle to the increase in population, therefore, even in crisis conditions, people should strive to increase the fertility rate.
Earlier, Lukashenko indicated that the population of Belarus should increase to 20 million people. “I say: the first child is yours, the second is also yours. The third child is mine and a little bit of yours. One hundred percent of the fifth and next – this is mine,” he said and promised to increase the state support for many children.
