The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) may apply to court if Booking does not pay a fine of 1.3 billion rubles. This event of events allowed the FAS Peter Ivanov’s chief, reports RIA Novosti.
He stressed that this is not about sanctions, but about the recovery of the fine in court. At the same time, he noted that there were still no such precedents: all foreign companies that FAS prescribed fines paid them.
Ivanov also expressed confidence that the implementation of the online booking service of FAS prescriptions to eliminate the requirements for parity prices will contribute to the development of competition in this sector. It will also affect the price of living in Russian hotels, added the FAS headlift.
Earlier in Russia predicted a decline in prices for hotel services, which may follow from the fine for the booking service Booking. As explained by the Director of the International Center for Competition and Politics, BRICS, with HSE, Alexey Ivanov, this may happen due to a decrease in income from the company’s monopolistic activities.
