Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin declared the need to prepare for a phased reduction in the use of traditional fuels – oil, gas and coal to adapt to the use of alternative fuels. He reported this at a meeting with the Deputy Prime Ministers, reports the TV channel “Russia 24”.
“The world economy is aimed at a gradual transition to low-carbon energy. And this is already a new reality,” said the chairman of the government. He encouraged to increase energy efficiency, develop alternative energy and build relevant infrastructure.
Mishoustin also stated that by the end of the year it is necessary to develop and approve a consolidated action plan for the adaptation of the Russian economy to the global energy transition. To do this, the Government will create special working groups. The curator of decarbonization will be the first Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov.
at the end of September “Rosgeology” reported that oil reserves in Russia are enough for 30 years, and gas reserves are 70 years. The agency noted a decrease in the number of new deposits and gradual exhaustion of old.
