The Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Nurlan Ermekbaev said that the department examines the version of arson in a warehouse with ammunition in the south of the republic, RIA Novosti reports.
“We do not exclude various reasons – it may be a violation of safety requirements, self-burning, a chemical reaction, a deliberate arson or sabotage is also excluded,” said Ermekbaev at a press conference.
According to the Defense Office of the Republic, the explosion occurred at around 19:00 local time (16:00 Moscow time) as a result of fire near one of the warehouses on the territory of the military unit. The Ministry of Defense was noted that in the warehouse held mainly engineering ammunition that do not have a lot of distance from the distance.
