Ramstein surrounded tents with Afghans

The US Air Base located in the west of Germany has turned into a tent town, on the territory of which thousands of refugees from Afghanistan are located. It is reported by Euronews TV channel.

Arriving Afghans undergo a medical examination, for the time of paperwork they are placed in tents. The identity of refugees is also conducted. Americans managed to identify three Afghans among them, previously deported from Germany for drug trafficking and sexual crimes.

In total, the US Army erected 340 boxes and tents. Temporary housing is designed for staying 17 thousand people. On the flights arriving at the air base, three children were born.

On the use of Ramstein airbase as a transit point for the evacuation of people from Afghanistan, it became known on August 20. The staff, having learned about the emergence of refugees, organized a campaign to collect clothes and other household items that could need people arriving from Afghanistan.

Evacuation from Kabul continues Despite the series of explosions that have killed 170 people. According to the deputy press secretary of the White House of the United States Andrew Bates, from August 14, Washington took more than 82 thousand people from the country. “Since July, we evacuated – 87.9 thousand people,” added official.
