Psaki refuted United States friendship with Taliban

Press Secretary of the White House, Jen Psaka, said that the United States did not trust the militants of the Taliban terrorist movement (forbidden in Russia) and do not consider them their friends, RIA Novosti reports.

Psaki refuted friendship with the Taliban, emphasizing that it does not seek to “sweeten” the position of the United States in interaction with terrorist movement. “This is not a group that we trust, not our friends, we never said that,” Psaki emphasized on a briefing in the White House.

A spokesman for the White House explained that coordination with the Taliban is necessary because it helps to evacuate US citizens from Afghanistan.
