“Taliban” and “Northern Alliance” decided not to attack each other

The militants of the radical terrorist movement “Taliban” (prohibited in Russia) and the leaders of the “Northern Alliance” (the rebel group, which has resisted the Taliban back in the 1990s), agreed not to attack each other. This is reported by the GEO TV TV channel with reference to the sources.

According to the television channel, meetings between the delegations of the Taliban and the Northern Alliance passed within two days in a parwas Afghan province. Sources said that the Parties will publish the results of a peace agreement at a press conference in the near future.

It is expected that the specified agreement will help prevent the armed clashes of the Taliban and the resistance fighters headed by the son of the former leader of the Northern Alliance Ahmad Shah Masuda, in the province of Panjucher.

Earlier it was reported that the leader of the resistance “Taliban” Ahmad Masood Jr. called on Russia to help resolve the conflict. In particular, the Russian side, in his opinion, can carry out emergency negotiations between the opposition and the militants. Masood stressed that participation in the elimination of the crisis in the interests of Moscow, since otherwise the extremist ideology “fills in all Central Asia and in the south of Russia.”
