Researchers from Hungary found that consumption up to three cups of coffee per day is associated with a reduced risk of stroke and death from cardiovascular diseases. Scientists submitted their findings at the Cordiology Congress of the European Society.
Experts from the University of Armshelweiss decided to find out the connection between the reception of coffee and the cases of heart attacks, strokes and deaths from them. They analyzed the data collected in 11 years. 468 629 participants of the UK Biobank study participants, whose average age was 56 years old and, before it began, cardiovascular diseases were recorded. They were divided into three groups: not consumed coffee that consumed moderately (up to three cups per day) and consuming a lot (more than three cups per day).
It turned out that in consuming a drink, a moderately risk of death was as a whole below by 12 percent, from cardiovascular diseases – by 17 percent, from a stroke – by 21 percent. In order to find out the reason for such a dependence, the researchers analyzed MRI of the hearts of 30 thousand research participants. “Analysis of the snapshots showed that compared to those participants who did not drink coffee regularly, who had consumed his daily heart worked better, and its size was closer to the norm,” said Leader’s leader Judit Simon.
