Moscow plans to establish relations with the radical movement “Taliban” (a terrorist organization prohibited in Russia). This was stated by the Special Representative of the President of Russia in Afghanistan, director of the second Department of Asia Foreign Minister Zamir Kabulov, reports TASS.
The diplomat stressed that the Russian side needs to support constructive contacts with any power in Afghanistan. He hoped that the Taliban and civilians of the republic would not use the US military to unleash the Civil War.
On August 28, Kabulov said that Russia “relatively comfortable” met the arrival of the Taliban militants to power in Afghanistan. According to him, the past eight years Moscow has established relations with government representatives in the republic, including the Taliban. The diplomat added that the Taliban serves encouraging signals in the formation of an inclusive government.
