Pakistan’s Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said that the country did not receive a single refugee from Afghanistan. His words transfers Geo TV TV channel, RIA Novosti reports.
“We expected a huge influx of refugees from Afghanistan, but no one came to Pakistan as a refugee,” the minister said. According to him, this status was not provided to anyone. Ahmad said that people from Afghanistan arrive every day in Pakistan through the Chaman’s border point, and then return back, and called it “normal activity.”
At the same time, the Pakistani Minister noted that the country is ready to assist those who arrived from Afghanistan. According to him, only 3,000 people posted in one Islamabad. He added that “any person of any nationality who arrived in Pakistan from Afghanistan” will be provided with a transit visa for a period of 21 days.
