Minister for the Development of the Far East Development Aleksey Chekunov in an interview with RBC called the cost of the project to populate the region. According to him, it equals eight trillion rubles.
It is expected that the project will increase the population of the Far East for two million people in the next 15 years. This will require more than 60 million square meters of residential real estate and create a “new environment for life.”
“Launch the flywheel of such an extension possible, but this investment project would cost about eight trillion rubles. This is the aggregated value,” Chekun noted.
According to the calculations of the Minister and its departments, the implementation of such an investment project will benefit by the state and business, since new residents will create a gross product of the region, which will be wrapped in additional taxes. However, they make sense only to attract that the rate of their performance will be higher than the average Russian.
In the plan of Chekunov, the first millionnik city may appear in the Far East. To do this, Vladivostok will be united with a nearby city of Artem and a potential satellite city. The latter can get a satellite name.
