West intends to question the objectivity of the September elections to the State Duma and strengthens attempts to influence them. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, a member of the first five to candidates of the State Duma from the party “United Russia” Sergey Lavrov, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Lavrov, the West is already trying to express the distrust to the Russian electoral process and question its results. “We all passed all this in the previous election election campaigns, but now it is manifested, probably more acute,” the diplomat said.
Foreign Minister stressed that Russia is ready to develop relations with Europe and the US only “on the basis of mutual respect and equality.” He noted that no one can dictate conditions to Moscow. “Want to talk on an equal footing – please at any time, our doors are open,” – concluded Lavrov.
Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said that Russia refuses to ask for itself any sanctions. According to him, the topic of sanctions was not becoming a subject for discussion. “We have repeatedly said that we are not going to discuss the sanction topics to discuss with those countries that are used by these sanctions as a tool,” added Lavrov.
