Russian and Belarus President Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko will meet in Moscow on September 9. This was reported in the press service of the Belarusian leader.
According to the department, the date of the meeting was agreed upon during the telephone conversation of the heads of state in the morning on Monday, August 30. The meeting of Lukashenko and Putin confirmed the official representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov.
Earlier on August 30, Putin held a telephone conversation with Lukashenko, during which he congratulated him happy birthday. In addition, the Russian leader sent Lukashenko a congratulatory telegram in which he promised the constant support of the “Belarusian Friends” from Russia.
Lukashenko during a telephone conversation noted the need for cooperation as part of the organization of the collective security agreement (CSTO) and the development of a single position on the situation in Afghanistan.
The last time the leaders of the two countries met in St. Petersburg in July. The presidents agreed on the price of gas for Belarus this year. The cost will not be indexed and will remain at the same level. Also, the parties agreed on credit support in connection with the tax maneuver.
An important place in the negotiations also took a discussion of allied programs for the harmonization of tax legislation and interaction in the customs sphere, as well as building a strategy to counter Western sanctions.
