Kazakhstan: Day of Mourning

Kazakhstan President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev announced on August 29 a day of nationwide mourning in connection with a series of explosions at a military warehouse in the Zhambyl region. This was announced in his twitter .

“The dead military personnel and rescuers showed genuine heroism and dedication. They will forever remain in the memory of the people,” the president wrote.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, the number of victims of the explosions increased to 13 people. The bodies of the three dead remain unidentified. Searches for three more people are conducted.
