Lada cars in Russia collapsed 32.6 percent in August compared to the same month last year (up to 19,428 pieces), the AvtoVAZ reports.
It happened due to corporate holidays and downtime. The decline turned out to be the maximum since May last year. The indicators influenced the deficit of electronic components. In August, the bestseller of the Lada model range was the Vesta family with the result of 6882 cars sold.
In second place – Granta cars (5007 pieces), on the third – Niva (total sales of Niva Legend and Niva Travel amounted to 3438 cars). At the end of the eight months of this year, the Russian auto-giant implemented 251.66 thousand cars in the country (plus 30.8 percent by 2020 and plus 7.7 percent to the pre-crisis 2019).
AvtoVAZ several times was forced to suspend production due to the shortage of electronic components. The company’s revenue for Russian accounting standards (RAS) fell by 12.1 percent (up to 256.851 billion rubles) at the end of last year. At the same time, the net profit of Russian auto giant rose almost twice, reaching 741.7 million rubles.
