The leaders of the EU countries are ready to cooperate with the militants of the Radical Movement “Taliban” (a terrorist organization prohibited in Russia), if the new rulers of Afghanistan will comply with a number of rules. This was stated by the EU Supreme Representative on Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel, reports The Independent.
Among the conditions for the potential interaction of the EU and Taliban, Borrel called providing free access to humanitarian aid for Afghans, as well as compliance with the fundamental human rights and principle of the rule of law. He noted that Afghanistan under the rule of “Taliban” should not be a bridgehead for exporting terrorism to other countries.
The EU representative called the future of Afghanistan in one of the key issues to unite. According to him, this problem directly affects the international stability and safety of European countries. Borrel called on militants to form an inclusive government in Afghanistan and allow everyone to leave the country freely.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov predicted the aggravation of the migration crisis in Afghanistan due to the economic policy of Western countries against the Taliban. According to the diplomat, European states themselves provoke the migration of Afghans to their borders, as they ceased to provide financial assistance to Afghanistan and frozen reserves of the country.
