Russia predicted aggravation of the migration crisis in Afghanistan due to the economic policy of Western countries against the Taliban (a terrorist organization prohibited in Russia). About this in an interview with RIA Novosti reported the Russian ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov.
According to the diplomat, the pressure of the West only worsens the situation with refugees. European states themselves provoke the migration of Afghans to their borders, as they ceased to provide financial assistance to Afghanistan and frozen countries reserves.
“If now the West is hit by economic in Afghanistan – not so much on the new authorities as in the population, – in general it is possible to predict that these consequences migration can become even worse,” Zhirnov noted.
Previously, the United States refused to open the “Taliban” access to Afghan state gold and foreign exchange reserves. Most of the assets of the Central Bank of Afghanistan in the amount of 10 billion dollars are abroad. The West uses them as a pressure tool for militants to force the Taliban to comply with the rights of women and the rule of law.
