The Russian Ministry of Defense for the first time will test the combat robots of the “Uran-9” family in real conditions. Robots will guard special objects and deal with drones of the conditional opponent on the “West-2021” teachings. This is reported by Izvestia with reference to the source in the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
Sources of publication noted that the decision on the use of combat robots was already accepted. The task of the machines will be the protection of field infrastructure – warehouses, command points and other objects. Optical-electronic robot systems will allow to detect the enemy to further destruction.
Also “Uranium-9” will complement the means of anti-air defense. The robot will detect unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and knock them down, or transfer data about the target funds.
The source of the publication added that the “West-2021” exercise will make a decision on the role of combat robots on the battlefield and parts in which these complexes will work. In August, the division equipped with Uran-9 robots was involved in the exercises at the Mulino Polygon in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Then the cars were first used in combat orders when conducting defense, noted in the Ministry of Defense.
In January, the TV channel “Star” published a video called the “War of the Future”, where it is described about the use of multifunctional robotic complexes “Uran-9”.
From open sources, it is known that the combat robotic complex “Uran-9” is developed by the “776th manual of production and technological configuration”. The car on the tracked chassis received a combat module with a gun 2A72 of 30 millimeters and a 7.62-millimeter machine gun Kalashnikov Tank Modernized (Pectm). They are complemented by four anti-tank managed rockets (Ptti) “Attack”. Such an arsenal allows you to fight the live strength and enemy technique – including low-fat air targets.
