Czech Republic Foreign Minister Yakub Kulgank assessed the likelihood of termination of relations with Russia. This is stated in his article published on the website of the Czech Office, RIA Novosti reports.
“Currently it is impossible to” not have “relations with Russia,” said Kulgank. According to him, it was shown by the Summit of the Russian and American leaders of Vladimir Putin and Joe Bayiden in June of this year, as well as the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Moscow. “Neither the Baltic states nor Poland interrupted their contacts with Moscow, although their relationship has long been even more acute character than ours,” he noted.
Kulgank added that the incident with explosions in Vrbetice, Russian-Czech relations are at the point of freezing. At the same time, he urged not to build them on excessive emotions, as some politicians in the Czech Republic demanded. In his opinion, after the occurrence, the country operated “decisively, but in no case is not hysterically.” “Paradoxically, the courage for such a step did not find those who are now louder to all fighting with Moscow,” the Foreign Minister concluded.
In August, the Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babisha said that Prague is interested in developing relations with Russia, but does not see the same desire from Moscow. According to him, the main obstacle to the interaction of states is the inclusion of the Czech Republic in the list of countries unfriendly for the Russian Federation.
