Germany is ready to return its diplomats in Kabul under a number of conditions on the part of the militants of the Radical Movement “Taliban” (a terrorist organization prohibited in Russia). This was stated by the head of the German Foreign Ministry Haiko Maas, RIA Novosti reports.
Among the main conditions, the diplomat called security of employees of German diplomsses, as well as observing the rights of man and the creation of an inclusive government. He also noted the importance of continuing to combat terrorism in the Afghan territory.
According to Maas, Afghanistan faces a humanitarian catastrophe. The politician stressed that Berlin is ready to provide Humanitarian support and development assistance in the case of these requirements. “We will discuss this not only within the EU, but also in a wider circle. We must, if we want to help, have a diplomatic presence,” he concluded.
Previously, the Supreme Representative of the European Union on Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel stated that the chaotic evacuation of citizens of Western countries from Afghanistan showed how important it is to ensure general defense for the association. He decided to create a single European army of five thousand servicemen. It will ensure the safety of EU countries.
