Moscow encourages the United States to refuse speculation on the topic of COVID-19 and not use a pandemic for account information. This was stated by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharov at a briefing that was broadcast on Youtube Channel RT.
We are talking about the US intelligence report, in which the Chinese origin of the coronavirus is allegedly revealed. It was published on August 27th. “The publication led to the next turn of insinuations around in general, and emphasized, a purely scientific issue,” added Zakharov.
According to her, the Kremlin has already performed with calls to “avoid politicization” of research on the source of COVID-19. The diplomat noted that such steps spread tensions in society and in the international arena, which prevents countries from developing measures to counteract the pandemic.
