Foreign Ministry caught up Apple and Google in an attempt to intervene in elections in Russia

The lack of the reaction of American Corporations Apple and Google to the requirements of the Russian authorities to remove forbidden extremist content may be associated with the upcoming elections in Russia. In this, the American IT-Giants representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharov during a briefing, the broadcast of which is available on YouTube TV channel “Russia-24”.

According to Zakharova, the demonstrative ignoring of Russian laws by the American Jurlitz and companies is unacceptable. It is quite possible to interpret how “an attempt to intervene is not just in the internal affairs, but to the electoral political process.”

“Further connivance from the American IT monopolies, the spread of prohibited materials, it is legitimate to interfere with both interference in the internal affairs of the Russian state,” Zakharov said.

Earlier, Roskomnadzor threatened Twitter and Google fines in the amount of 20 million rubles in part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (“Upholstered website owner or an information resource in an information and telecommunication network of information in the event that the obligation to remove such information is provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation” ). August 19, Google got a fine of six million rubles.

Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) fined Apple on April 27. The service has established that Apple abused the dominant position in the mobile application market for the IOS operating system. The Russian department considered that Apple’s actions “led to the provision of competitive advantages by their own products,” that is, the company took advantage of its own monopolist position. The size of the fine exceeds 12 million dollars (906 million rubles). On August 30, the FAS accused Apple in imposing users of unprofitable conditions.
