The head of the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense Ben Wallace refused the United States in the right to be called the superpower: he hinted that the American side failed the organized conclusion of troops from Afghanistan, which indicates its limited capabilities. It quotes The Guardian.
Answering the question of how successful the evacuation of Great Britain’s citizens can be called, the Minister of Defense said: The country has encountered certain limits of its capabilities. “And this is obvious, considering the fact that Britain is not a superpower. Yes, if it were called such [after a failure, similar to Afghan], since the superpower should be ready for any events,” said Wallace.
The Guardian sources in the Ministry of Defense believe that thereby the minister tried to crush the United States for the unsuccessful evacuation from the Islamic Republic.
On August 31, during appeal to the nation, US President Joe Biden announced that the departure of American troops from Afghanistan completes the era of attempts to reroach other countries. His statement was criticized. Thus, a member of the Federation Council, Alexey Pushkov, said that the liberal European community is shocked by the statement of the American leader. Putkov added that the United States was always considered a stronghold of a liberal world order and values, which “prayed by the European elite.”
