American Republican Senators Marco Rubio, Roy Blante and Ben Sass sent a letter to President Joe Bidenu, which criticizes his policy in Afghanistan. It is reported by RT.
According to politicians, the termination of the support of the Afghan military from Washington led to the seizure of power in the country “Taliban” (the terrorist group is prohibited in Russia). Congressmen stated that the political course of the administration of the current president shows the “absolute misunderstanding of the dynamics of the conflict”, as a result of which the 20-year-old conflict ended with failure.
The authors of the letter are confident that “the rapid seizure of power was completely predictable and prevent.” So, many in Congress warned more than one month about it. “So, neither you nor your advisers should have been surprised by the results of your decision about the hasty conclusion of the troops,” the letter says.
Also, the Senators believe that the decision on the withdrawal of the military USA led to the “terrible conditions” in which the US military and their Afghan partners became vulnerable to terrorist attacks. According to the authors of the appeal, place the blame for a catastrophe of the Afghan side – “indignantly and deeply offensive.”
On August 31, the head of the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (USCENTCOM), whose responsibility zone includes the Middle East, General Kenneth McCenzie said that the last American soldier left Afghanistan. The United States fully completed its military presence in the country on August 30.
“Taliban” on August 15 announced the establishment of control over the entire territory of Afghanistan. Also, the Taliban announced the emergency creation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
