The United Kingdom Ministry of Defense stated the possibility of using infantry aging combat vehicles (BMP) Warrior. This is due to problems with the operation of new BMP AJAX, which cost five billion dollars. This is reported by the UK DEFENSE Journal edition.
Evidence for disappointment in the new BMP is the response of the Minister of Defense Procurement of the United Kingdom of Jeremy Quina to the parliamentary request for the replacement of FV107 SCIMITAR military intelligence machines on the CVR (T) platform.
The minister stressed that the FV107 is a BMP AJAX. In 2023, SCIMITAR reconnaissance machines will be removed from weapons, and it may be necessary to use BMP Warrior due to problems with AJAX. At the same time, the British military declared the termination of the modernization of Warrior, remind the authors of the UK Defense Journal.
In June, it became known that the operation of the BMP AJAX was limited due to a high level of noise and vibrations that caused nausea, headache and joint problems in the crew members of the armored vehicles. As a temporary measure, the military recommended to change the crews every one and a half hours and limit the speed of movement of armored vehicles 20 miles per hour.
In 2010, the Defense Office of the UK chose BMP ASCOD 2 to create a uniform tracked platform AJAX. The promising platform is designed to replace the Machine Family on the CVR (T) platform, developed in the 1960s.
