Specialists of the Scientific and Production Association “Zipper” are preparing to return the Spaceship “Buran” to Russia. Representatives of the enterprise developed by the ship visited the Baikonur cosmodrome for inspection of the infrastructure and the orbital apparatus itself on the official website of NPO “Zipper”.
Representatives of the Russian company were examined by the Burand orbital ship, its technological layout and the installation and refueling complex of the site of the Baikonur cosmodrome, where the second sample of the ship is stored (product 1.02 “storm”). Inspection conducted to plan further ship transport to Russia.
In the report, it is also noted that representatives of Roskosmos, the center of exploitation of landflowing infrastructure and an unnamed transport company took part in the away meeting on transportation “Buran”. Specialists discussed the possibility of moving the ship and its layout without damage and large-scale dismantling of objects.
The result of the meeting was the decision on the supervision of the NGO “Lightning” over the process of disassembling, transportation and subsequent assembly of the ship.
The second flight instance of the Burand orbital ship was preparing for flight in 1992, but due to insufficient financing, the flight did not take place. By the time the program is closed by a multi-sized transport and space system in 1993, the readiness of the second “Buran” exceeded 90 percent.
In March, it became known that a new orbital aircraft, which works with NGOs “Lightning”, will become an analogue of the American Reusable Ship X-37B. The aircraft will be performed in comparable dimensions, and its main task will be the delivery of goods into space.
