Protection of members of Coordination Council considered a judicial verdict unfair

Protection of members of the Coordination Council (CS) of the Belarusian opposition of Maria Kolesnikova and Maxim signs, whom the court sentenced to 11 and 10 years of imprisonment, respectively, called the court decision unfair. It is reported by Telegram-channel TUT.BY.

According to the lawyer, the sign of Evgenia Pylchenko, during the investigation, the prosecutor’s office could not prove neither the guilt of oppositionists, nor the fact of involvement in the crime sane in the case of a conspiracy in order to capture the authorities and the creation of extremist formation.

“This verdict is illegal and unreasonable. It is not based on evidence,” dustchenko emphasized. He added that the defense would certainly appeal a court decision.

On September 6, Kolesnikova and the sign were sentenced by the court to 11 and 10 years of imprisonment in the case of a conspiracy in order to capture the authorities and the creation of extremist formation. The sentence was announced publicly, despite the fact that the case itself was considered in closed mode. Dozens of opposition supporters gathered in the meeting room, many people were also left to expect a court decision on the street. According to the portal, the sentence has not yet entered into legal force and can be appealed.

On August 9, 2020, presidential elections were held in Belarus, which once again defeated Alexander Lukashenko. It caused mass protests and strikes throughout the country. Soon the opposition announced the creation of the Coordination Council to unite the efforts of protesters and dialogue with the leadership of the republic. The COP includes sign and chariot.
