X5 Group (manages Pyaterochka’s trading networks, “Crossroads” and “Carousel”) did not receive notifications from the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) on the Ryazan Region on the initiation of the case due to the overestimation of prices for vegetables. Suspicions of UFAS in establishing trading networks of monopoly high prices do not reflect the real price situation in stores, noted in the X5 Group. During the summer, the margin for vegetables was constantly changing depending on the purchase price and supply volume, a significant part of the summer surcharge on potatoes and carrots was negative, stressed in the company.
Responding to accusations, in X5 indicated that the average margin in the “Pyaterochka” stores in the Ryazan region on the onions was 14 percent, 4 percent on white cabbage, and it was negative on potatoes and carrots – minus 4 and minus 14 percent, respectively.
According to FAS in the summer of 2021, the largest trading networks of the region set a mark-up for the goods of the fruit and vegetable group in the amount of 50 percent to procurement prices, sometimes it reached 100 percent. Antimonopoly business initiated.
FAS intends to prepare a bill, regulating marks for products. The purpose of the document is called “raising transparency” in the issue of pricing.
