Huawei will buy processors from foreign partners only with 4G support. This is reported in the WEIBO of the famous Chinese insider Digital Chat Station.
According to the source, the Chinese corporation agreed to purchase the American company Qualcomm processors. Despite the bans of the United States, the company found a way to purchase components from a foreign supplier and thereby circumvent restrictions. According to a limited agreement between companies, Huawei has the right to acquire only chips without supporting the fifth generation communications.
We are talking about non-indentated Snapdragon 7315, 8325 and 8450 processors. It is reported that Qualcomm was allowed to supply components to the Chinese IT giant, provided that the chips will not support 5G. Exclusively for Huawei manufacturer will release a special series of processors exclusively with 4G support.
According to the specialist, this required compromise will allow Huawei to consistently supply smartphones to the market. Despite the fact that now the fifth generation connection is not common in the world, in the future corporation will have to look for ways to purchase chips with support 5G.
Insider Digital Chat Station clarified that Huawei has already collaborated with the American company for a similar scheme. Previously, she managed to purchase Snapdragon 888 processors from Qualcomm without supporting the fifth generation communication for its P50 and P50 Pro smartphones.
At the end of the summer, it became known that Huawei increased the amount of components produced in China to reduce dependence on foreign companies. According to experts, the proportion of Chinese parts in new brand smartphones is more than 60 percent. Huawei is under the sanctions since May 2019.
