Pfizer and Moderna RNA vaccines against coronavirus are not related to any serious health consequences and safe. This was proved by the specialists of the non-profit organization Kaiser Permanente, who studied 6.2 million patients medical records. This is reported in a press release on Eurekalert.
The study presents the results from mid-December 2020 to 26 June 2021. Some of them were summarized earlier and reported at open meetings of the Consultative Committee for the Control and Prevention of US Disease Prevention (CDC) in practice of immunization.
During the analysis, concrete events were compared among all people vaccinated RNA vaccine against COVID-19 during the first three weeks after vaccination, with health events among patients during 3-6 weeks after vaccination. The total number of people who have been estimated was 6.2 million for the first dose of any RNA vaccine and 5.7 million for the second dose. Researchers studied 23 potential health impacts, including encephalitis and myelitis, convulsions and Hyien Barre syndrome; Cardiovascular problems, such as acute myocardial infarction, stroke and pulmonary thromboembolism; And others, such as Bella Palsy, Apandicitis, Anaphylaxis and Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome.
The researchers then applied a statistical analysis to determine whether the number of incidents was above a certain threshold or “signal”, which would talk about high risk of serious health effects. It turned out that none of the targets reached the threshold. The authors also counted that among patients aged 12 to 39 years old there is a risk of additional 6.3 cases of myocarditis per million doses during the first week after vaccination.
