The Ministry of Agriculture proposed to increase the tax for the use of water bioresours in Russia, writes the Russian newspaper with reference to the draft relevant amendments to the Tax Code.
The document involves a significant increase in tax rates on most types of fish: at Mintai from the Sea of Okhotsk – from 3.5 to 4.3 thousand rubles per ton, at Mintai from other areas of the fishery – from 2 to 4.3 thousand rubles, on Cambalu – from 10 rubles to 2.1 thousand rubles per ton.
Fishing tax is proposed to increase from 3.5 to 12.6 thousand rubles per ton, on a bush – from 20 to 30 thousand rubles. When catching Kamchatka crab, you will have to pay 80 thousand rubles per ton instead of the previous 35 thousand.
The current tax rates have been operating since 2004. In an explanatory note to the bill, it is noted that after the increase, they will amount to about 4.8 percent of the average producer prices.
At the same time, the authors did not raise tax rates when fishing some kinds of fish, such as humpbacks and herring, as well as shrimps, since their production is associated with high costs and severe fishery. With increasing tax rates, the final prices may be too high, and the stocks of bioresources will remain unavailable.
