Retailers offered to free from taxes in return for charity

The National Center for Food and Care of Ecology “FUCHERING” suggested the Ministry of Finance to release retailers from paying VAT (value added tax) under one condition. Products with expiring shelf life (from one to four days before its completion) Trading networks must pass on charity, report “Izvestia”.

“Foodshering” proposed to make appropriate amendments to Article 170 of the Tax Code and freeing companies from VAT payment instead for charitable activities. It is assumed that retailers will transfer products to non-commercial organizations. For example, in NGOs working with low-income citizens.

It is noted that in the future the maximum of five years the offer will allow to preserve about one million tons of food per year. This quantity of food is enough for 18 million people to receive food assistance at the expense of the resources already existing in the economy. However, trading networks believe that this measure will become disadvantageous for them.

“Now for retailers, transmit products with expiring shelf life for charity is economically unprofitable, since the company is obliged to pay taxes as from the sale of goods without receiving profit,” the representative of Metro explained.

FUCHERING writing to the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov entered the department, they will be considered, promised in the press service of the ministry.

Earlier it was reported that the British youth will make pay for pensioners. This measure should replenish the country’s budget for almost ten billion pounds or 14 billion dollars.
