Former president of Moldova, the leader of the Socialist Party Igor Dodon accused the West in the imposition of the country of the Anti-Russian Course. He stated this on the TV channel “First in Moldova”.
Politician expressed regret that the speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu refused to send observers to the election in the State Duma and called it an unfriendly step, reminding that in 20 years there was no one occasion when Moldovan observers were not in Russia.
“Many Western countries who carry out anti-Russian policies decided not to send observers. This is a practically a trial step to make Moldova to join anti-Russian sanctions. This is a mistake, it is wrong,” dodon emphasized.
Ex-president added that Moldova should be adjusted to the position and develop a strategic partnership with Russia. He concluded that the country’s leadership receives “instructions of Western curators” to avoid contacts with Moscow.
On August 3, the Organization for Safety and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) decided not to attend the elections in Russia due to the requirements to reduce the number of observers: from the Bureau of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the Parliamentary Assembly (PA) may allow Only 50 and 10 people, respectively. The Russian authorities explained that such a decision was made against the background of the coronavirus pandemic.
